Reporting to the Senior Director of Policy, the Policy Specialist will serve as an integral member of the policy team and a strategic thought-partner for the Senior Director of Policy and the organization. The Policy Specialist will be responsible for tracking and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments at federal, state and local levels related to students with disabilities in charter schools, conducting research and preparing research papers and other supporting materials for the Senior Director of Policy and assisting in the planning of meetings and convenings associated with our policy work. The Policy Specialist will be an ambassador for the organization and will need to be able to represent the Senior Director of Policy and the Center at policy-related meetings within the business, academic, political and public policy communities, as well as with individuals within the state and federal education systems.

The Center’s 8-week internship is offered from June – August, start date to be negotiated. The intern will participate in the daily life of a young, virtual non-profit dedicated to making substantial change through activities that support the following four goals: 1) conduct and disseminate research; 2) inform policy; 3) develop coalitions; and 4) build capacity.
